Have you ever thought to advertise on Facebook?

Using Facebook to advertise for a business is a form of marketing that not too many people think of doing. After reading an article titled “Is Facebook Advertising for You” found on entrepreneur.com one can see if using Facebook as a means of advertising is right for their company. There are two points that can be taken into consideration when determining this:

1.      Are you a local business with a physical location? Facebook allows you to advertise to people who live close to your business and if your business is located in a place that customers can walk in then Facebook could be a good way of bringing in customers for you. On Facebook your message could be right in front of the eyes of your target market.

2.      Does your business harmonize with Facebook? In determining if the product or service you are trying to sell belongs on Facebook you can use these questions as a guide to help determine this.

Is your product unique? Facebook is a great place to sell unique or personalized products because it is a place where everyone can express themselves as the individual they are. Facebook is not a place to sell products that can be bought at big retailers because people can easily go to a nearby retailer and buy the product.

Do you sell to consumers? Facebook is a place to sell to consumers, not businesses. Some businesses do have a Facebook; however, they don’t use Facebook as a means of looking for products to purchase. If consumers on the other hand do see an advertisement for a product or service they would like the consumers will most likely buy your product or service.

Do you sell fun products? Facebook is a great place to sell products that are fun because people go on Facebook to have fun and connect/socialize or play games with each other.

Does your business harmonize with a person’s identity? People want to do business with companies that correspond with their identity and personal beliefs and this can be taken advantage of. Connecting to things that customers care about is a great way to generate more consumers.
